count your blessings

Happy Thanksgiving! This time of year always makes me miss my family and friends back home. I'm so thankful for cell phones, email and other such technology to keep in touch. Soon, I will be going home to see everyone, but for now, I have to be content with where I am. God has blessed me with so many wonderful friends around here though as well. I couldn't ask for a more caring church family. They truly are interested in my spiritual well-being and are a constant source of encouragement and challenge to me.

Today I am spending the holiday with a good friend and former neighbor. We are cooking a turkey, and all the fixins' looking through circulars for good deals on black friday and just enjoying fellowshipping together. Later we are going to crash another party for dessert. ;)

Last night I spent the evening decorating my apartment for Christmas, wrapping presents, listening to Christmas music and reading. It was very cozy.

On Saturday, I'm driving down to my sister's apt to spend time with her, my bro and his fiancee. I'm very excited to see them and hang out!

I have no reason to complain, rather I have so much to be thankful for. I have an amazing family, wonderful friends and a great Sovereign God who is in control of every aspect of my life -- and He wants what is best for me!
